Happy New Year everyone! How are you doing on this fine Jan. 1st, 2016? Have you already broken any resolutions? Don’t feel bad. You are in good company! Mine was to start eating healthy and I just finished off a bag of chips from last night. Well, there weren’t THAT many in there. Don’t judge now. Everybody has their issues. Food, cigarettes, alcohol – whatever it is, you can be sure that it has a death-grip on you if you can’t stop your long-time behaviors. Habits are REALLY hard to break.

You have to concentrate so hard on NOT doing  something that it almost seems to make you concentrate on DOING it! So, maybe the answer is to just forget about it and just keep on doing the same thing over and over? Well, THAT seems counterproductive. So, what IS the best way to make, start and keep a New Year’s Resolution?! I don’t know and I don’t think anyone else does either, really. But, I think the best answer is that the people who succeed have already DONE it in their mind. They have their minds made up so solidly that NOTHING can change their minds about doing that thing. If you don’t have that mind-set already made up, then don’t even bother to make the resolution because it won’t work.

However, on a happier note, you CAN make a resolution at the beginning of this year to try to get that mind-set ready and willing to help you do what you want to do. Resolve to get the resolve! Think about things you never thought you could do and how you MADE yourself do them because you HAD to – for financial reasons, or family reasons, etc. Whatever it was, you DID it because you had to. Think of something – anything like that – to hang onto – when you want to build yourself up. If you could do THAT, you are not a wimp with no backbone! You are a winner!!

Then, let’s start over and make that new health resolution or whatever it is and get your  mind-set ready. Then it can be  READY, SET, GO! I’m going to try again. Can you join me? Comment on this blog and let’s support each other. HAPPY NEW YEAR, NEW YOU & NEW ME!!
